As DOS architects’ first completed building in the African continent, this project represents a real milestone in our firm’s 15 year history.  Our design for this mixed use development in the Kazanchis district Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia, succeeded in creating an arresting and exciting building to reflect the vibrant development and regeneration of one of the oldest parts of the city.  

Completed in 2014, this 8-storey building contains of a 2-storey gym and spa on the lower floors, with eight apartments and a spectacular penthouse apartment on the top floor. Featuring a dramatic overhang shadowing the glazed façade, it is the first building of its kind in the city. 

As lead consultant for the project, DOS architects were in charge of coordinating the local architects as well as the structure and MEP engineers for the project.  

Since completing this building, DOS architects’ presence in the African continent has grown exponentially until present day. With ongoing projects currently in Abidjan, Dakar, Yamoussoukro and again Addis Ababa our firm is fully committed to being part of Africa’s present and future.
