Our vision for this project was to create a natural oasis for the citizens of Yamoussoukro where nature and architecture merge into a homogeneous entity– a beacon for the citizens of the city and a statement to the world beyond.

The project involves the reconversion of a 210 hectare greenfield site on the edge of Yamoussoukro into a Peri-Urban Forest and a Zoological Park which will also contain botanical gardens, a sports complex and research facilities for the preservation of the country’s biodiversity.

This program, with an overall cost estimated at 98 million euros is led by Ministry of Water and Forests of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and is due for completion in 2022 and aims to stimulate the restoration of vegetation cover, accelerate the integration of environmental education into the national education program, increase the participation of the educational community in the management of forest resources and make the Yamoussoukro District a greener and environmentally friendly as some larger cities in the World.

As lead consultant for the project, DOS architects have been in charge of coordinating the works of the landscape architects as well as the civil, Infrastructure and MEP engineers appointed for the project. We have also been in charge of carrying out the detailed design proposals for the Marina and Urban parks within the development.
